The activity which was organized under the coordination of province governorships of Diyarbakır, Mardin, Şanlıurfa and Van, took place between 21-23 May 2013.
The students and teachers who flew to Istanbul from Mardin on 20 May, and from Diyarbakır, Şanlıurfa and Van on 21 May were first involved in a guided tour of the Emirgan Yellow Pavillion in groups. On 22 May, they were taken to Topkapı Palace Museum, Hagia Sophia Museum, and the Archeology Museums and were treated to a lunch on the boat and a Boshporus cruise.
The dinner on 21 May for the visitors at the Borsa Restaurant of the Lutfi Kırdar Convention Center was attended by Abdurrahman Arıcı, the Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism, Çetin Arslan, the Central Director for Revolving Funds. The dinner, which also saw the participation of Başaran Ulusoy, President of TURSAB, the Union of Travel Agencies in Turkey, Board Members, and the administration of the TURSAB-MTM business partnership, the guests chatted with students and presented with a “kit” including Muzekart, camera, Istanbul guidebook, program and introductory cards. The event concluded with seeing off the participating students who returned to their cities by plane.
